i have been a licensed practicing holistic esthetician for over 6 years now. living and working in new york city, los angeles and now seattle. i have had the chance to experience many different skin care lines, mainly organic and more natural lines, and i love to find new products out there. this is just an informal review of natural mostly organic skin care products that i have personally tried, wanting to share what i have experienced with others who are looking for products themselves.

eminence yam and pumpkin enzyme peel and chamomile toner
this is one of my favorite at home peels. it really nourishes your skin as it removes any built up layers. it's great for softening, evening and brightening the skin.
i like to use it in the shower to work the steam in a little, a little goes a long way. it's best to follow it with the eminence chamomile toner to help remove the peel and sooth your skin. sometimes when i am running late though i will just wash it off with my creamy vitamin c cleanser and that seems to work too. i try to use it about once a week or so.

living boldly...
yes to cucumbers-natural glow-facial towelettes
i picked these up at whole foods thinking it would be great for on-the-go cleansing and they are pretty good. i am not totally impressed because they are not so great at removing mineral makeup which i wear almost daily. it says "gentle cleansing and makeup removal", but i would say it's not for heavier makeup removal. i have used them after a sweaty yoga class and my skin felt great! so i would always keep something like this in my car, or gym bag, probably pretty good to travel with too. nice to have cleansing all in one step when you don't have much time!

avalon organics vitamin c cream cleanser
i really love this cleanser. it's great as an am/pm wash and removes makeup really well. i have combo skin and i am getting older so i always am looking for a hydrating cleanser that doesn't feel heavy or leave a film. this one is light, has a great citrus scent, and leaves my skin feeling clean not greasy, and also not tight, like some gel cleansers can. it's also very affordable and can get it at any health food store or online.

"The purpose of life, after all,
is to live it,
to taste experience to the utmost,
to reach out eagerly and without fear
for newer and richer experience."~Eleanor Roosevelt
i also will leave inspirational quotes that i have found and share them on this blog. please feel free to share your own as well. i am trying to live my life more as an adventure, with out fear, embracing each moment as a new experience, to be pure in my intentions and love for life.

eminence pear and poppy seed microderm polisher
i love this scrub! it definitely is a nice organic alternative to getting microderm done at the spa. with ingredients like finely crushed walnuts, poppy seeds and pear, your skin will feel deep cleansed but not stripped. a little goes a long way with all eminence products so it will last quite a while if you are using it a few times a week like i did.
